+1. Anything else is fraudulent. Sounds like OP has a soft short in the battery (high impedance so it drains slowly).

Sitting and watching is the only solution.

BB's dropped down the cells will short them out. If you drained it and put water in it there's no way it can work. I Had the same problem at Autozone. I finally got a higher up to test it

Have had this problem before - battery that I knew was defective, that would test ok in the store.

Connect a load (12v light, fan, inverter, etc.) and run it completely flat. Recharge it with the highest amperage setting your charger has. A few cycles of that should be enough to push it over the edge.
