Yes people might also call me a dinosaur too but if 5w30 can give me >300,000 miles on my vehicles, I am more than happy with that and they can call me a dinosaur.

Oil pressure and oil flow rate through the bearing do not produce the centering pressure field (and net force) needed to form acceptable minimum oil film thicknesses in journal bearings. The pressure field that keeps the journal separated from the bearings is largely due to the rotation of the journal and the oil's viscosity. There are journal bearings used in machines that do not have oil pumps.
