I saw one at a local dealership, 2006 SES/ZX4 with 69k miles, manual transmission for $9635. I personally think its priced about 2k too high. -- What are your thoughts?
In this market that price is a little on the high side. I've seen 2008s go for just a few hundred more and the only thing worse about the 2008 is that it has a big goofy chrome thing on the fender.
In your market, that may be the going rate for an '06
We had a 2000 focus. Except for "teething" problems of a new model- motor mounts and a fuel pump replaced under warranty, it was a very good car. The ride had a very solid feel to it both on the highway and on backroads-more like a small German car than a typical American or Japanese car in that price range. Agree with posters above though that the price they are asking is too high.
I had a 2007 and liked it..
thats waaay high on the price for a 6 year old car with average miles and a stick shift..
I myself prefer a MT but it also should be at least -500 vs an auto for resale.
id say.. 7k would be a good dealer price.
edmunds says 5200 trade in 6200 PP sale, 7200 dealer.
that was with some options I just tossed in.
When I traded in my 2.5 year old zx3 SE (38000 miles) I got 6800 for it. They then put a 10500 sticker on it.
only damage was a cracked bumper (
IF you REALLY want the car you might go as high as 8k but thats still abit much unless it has every option under the sun.
They are very reliable. I think the first year had a few issues (like most models). The 2.0 duratec is pretty rock solid. There's a couple of good Focus forums you can check out.
Duratec's have a timing chain, correct? Anyone know where the oil filter is on these? On my wife's 2AZ it is right under the bumper, and is super easy to get to. Sounds like a test drive is in order for the one I saw.
on the 07 its vertical off an adaptor on the front of the engine.
which is why they spec a shortened fl910(i think) vs a fl400s..
They were having people knock them off parking...
I did have a problem with the retarded built in rubber seal on the drain plug.. if you overtighten even slightly it will fall apart next time you change the oil..
replacements cost 15$.. or more.. ow.
