How OLD is this oil?

Found a couple of old quarts of oil in my garage today (Found them after moving) One is Havoline conventional and the other is Castrol GTX. Here are pics:

What is the rating of the oil? (SJ, SM)

Havoline says SJ, SH, SG (Don't know which you want) Castrol says SJ as well.

Those are nice collectors items. You can either hold on to them, use them in the proper vehicle, sell them or else get rid of them.

Id say around 10 years I remember those bottles when I was around ten years old. I think they quit using SJ oil in 1998 and switched to SL and then SM in 2004

Yeah I'd say from the mid 90's.
Unless you want to keep them I wouldn't hesitate to use them up.

SL oil was introduced in 2001, so those are at least 10 yrs old.

Check out the back of that havoline, see if it's made by "Equilon enterprises", for a while they and texaco were both making the stuff!
