How OLD are you.

How about when you want to listen to the radio in your car, you keep trying to twist the key backwards, and it won't go. Or, the fact that you even have a key to twist at all (wasn't Porsche late to the game with keyless making keys cool)

I'm so old that when a bad cs file from CrowdStrike caused the largest IT outage in history today, I thought, "cs?" CS as in M3/M5?

I'm 58. I've seen most of the stuff mentioned here. One thing that makes me laugh is the time I was visiting an aunt and uncle in Maine. I was fixing something at their house so my aunt and I went to the hardware store. I got what I needed and my aunt told them just put it on her account. The woman behind the counter said what's your account number? My aunt replied "seven". I doubled over laughing. Your account number is seven?

I’m so old I remember when contact with LE could result in a beating. I got into a scuffle with a Hartford CT police officer, and, no, I didn’t win. Today a cop can’t even say anything that would remotely hurt anyone’s feelings, and the general public is free to insult them under 1A. I agree with the former actually.

I saw a season 5 Cops just last night and they nabbed two people with a .380 and crack, at 4100 Parkside, one of my routes to work. This was 1993. If 2024, would have been an unlawful stop. Because it was for no registration. Today the code says one can’t be stopped for that in Phila.

Now if I didn’t misunderstand, the city is in fact tired of 5% tints incl windshield (imagine if this were the case in 1993) and since they can’t stop vehicles for that, they want PPA to handle when issuing parking tix. I doubt it will be effective asking a $15.57/hr employee to fight a war on illegal tints.

My entire point is times have greatly changed.

When cars had two metal keys. The round-head to unlock the door, and the square-head for the ignition - which went straight into the dash.
I recall the first time I saw that. My older brother had an 81 Monte Carlo and sent me into his car to retrieve something.
Seemed very weird to me, especially since you had to put the ridges of the key on the bottom (opposite of a house key lock cylinder).

I remember when ice skates were made in Canada and the skate holders became white

Also skate sharpening didn’t look like this
