I’m so old I remember when contact with LE could result in a beating. I got into a scuffle with a Hartford CT police officer, and, no, I didn’t win. Today a cop can’t even say anything that would remotely hurt anyone’s feelings, and the general public is free to insult them under 1A. I agree with the former actually.
I saw a season 5 Cops just last night and they nabbed two people with a .380 and crack, at 4100 Parkside, one of my routes to work. This was 1993. If 2024, would have been an unlawful stop. Because it was for no registration. Today the code says one can’t be stopped for that in Phila.
Now if I didn’t misunderstand, the city is in fact tired of 5% tints incl windshield (imagine if this were the case in 1993) and since they can’t stop vehicles for that, they want PPA to handle when issuing parking tix. I doubt it will be effective asking a $15.57/hr employee to fight a war on illegal tints.
My entire point is times have greatly changed.
