Hi everyone. I just bought a Civic VX transmission. The gears are a lot taller, so figure it would give me better gas mileage if even my current transmission would go out. The owner said he bought with the engine with 100K, and currently using the engine, but kept his old transmission since it had the seals redone.

I noticed the input shaft has some turning play. Meaning, when I turn it clockwize to counterclockwize (vice versa), there is about 1 to 5 degrees of play. Is this normal. The actual shaft does not have play.

For example I turn it clockwize and then suddently turn it counterclockwize and you will hear a click. Do the opposite, the same thing happens. I can only relate this to space between gears.
