The headlights actually look perfectly clear (other than pitting from debris) in regular light. The flash makes everything look worse.
If I do anything, I will take before and after pics and detail my progress - no pun intended.
But I suspect I will just live with it. I just got my first ding after 6 years, it's all downhill from here. I think I just have to accept that a 140K mile car does not have to look perfect. It has already paid it's dues. I just don't want to let it degrade.
What is amazing is how few chips the front of the FX and BMW have compared to the G. I suspect it is mostly the way I drive the G compared to the others, but I can count the total chips on the other two cars combined on one hand. One big difference is speed. The G is frequently driven at high speeds, the FX and BMW rarely exceed 80 mph.
