I was updating my truck's maintenance spreadsheet and got to thinking about the total number of oil changes and other maintenance that has been done on it. I think it would be interesting to get an idea of the number of oil changes that a BITOGer's car might have in its lifetime. Post your vehicle's stats...

2002 Ford Ranger 3.0 in my signature
Current mileage: 112,321
I have every receipt since it had 15 miles on the odo. My parents bought it new.
Oil/filter changes: 28
Transmission flushes: 4
Diff fluid changes: 2
Brake fluid changes: 1
Coolant changes: 2
Fuel filters: 3
Air filters: 3
Tires: 3 sets
Brake pads: 3 sets
Spark plugs: 1 set
Serp belt: 1
PCV valve: 2
Battery: 2

A little excessive on the oil changes, PCV valves, and probably air filters. Everything else was needed.

Okay I'll play.

2005 Toyota Corolla 5 speed manual 226,000 miles.

Oil/filter changes: 31
Transaxle changes: 2
Coolant changes: 1
Air filters: 6
Tires: 1 set (though I do run snows at times)
Spark plugs: 1 set
PCV valve: 1

Everything else is still factory fill or OEM (Battery, brake fluid, brake pads/shoes and such)

5293 gallons of fuel over its lifetime. 42.8 mpg average.

Bill

I do have detailed records on the Chrysler. Not sure what I was going for there but I don't keep them on my Mazda very well.

2005 PT Cruiser GT H.O. Turbo about 75,000 miles. Had it since it was showing 4000 miles on the odometer.

Oil and filter: 15, various synthetics usually Pennzoil Platinum and Quaker State
Transmission: 2, Valvoline ATF+4
Coolant:1
Spark Plugs: 3, Champion, NGK G-power platinum, NGK copper
Plug wires: 1
Front pads and rotors: 1
Rear pads: 1
Timing Belt:1
Tires: 2 sets. Riken and Pirelli
Air Filter: 1 K&N
brake fluid and power steering: turkey bastered once in awhile.
Batteries: 4 (1 purchased - 3 warranteed. weak BCI group 26 that gets cooked to death in small engine compartment surrounded by turbo plumbing).

I admit that it's probably overkill on some of the maintenance but I'm fairly certain my turbo clown hearse is mechanically as good as most with 1/4 the mileage.

I wanna join...

2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8L 5spd Auto.
Currently @ 130,000 miles
Roughly 18 oil changes, averaging about 8,000 miles.
Transmission fluid changes: 2 (2x drain n fills every 60k miles) overdue for the 3rd change.
Powersteering fluid flush: 1 @ 125,000 miles
Brake fluid flush: 1 @ 125,000 miles
Coolant drain n fill: 1 @ 125,000 miles
2 brake pad changes in the front, 1 in the back.
Currently on the 3rd set of tires.
Engine air filter changes: 7-8 roughly every 15-20k (every 2nd oil change)
Cabin air filter changes: 7-8 every 15-20k
Replaced 1 interior dome light bulb
2x a year complete interior and exterior and engine bay detail (the works) $200x2 value I do it myself cause I'm a part time detailer

1995 Toyota T100 Pickup 4x2 3.4 V6 Auto Trans
Currently 426,XXX miles
Purchased 12/2000 with 219,000 miles showing.
22 oil changes Mobil 1 and PureOne/Toyota oil filters
3 transmission fluid flushes
3 coolant flush/fills
2 timing belts
2 Air filters
3 Plug changes
1 injector changed
Head gaskets changed at 252,000 covered under Toyota recall
2 sets of front brake pads
3 sets of tires
2 mufflers

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but nothing major. All work except for head gaskets done by me.

Oilbabe's 98 Escort ZX2:

68 oil changes
7 sets of front brakes
6 transmission fluid exchanges
5 outer tie rod ends
etc.

After replacing the front brakes about four times I noticed the car was nicely engineered to trip the low brake fluid light at exactly the time the front brake pads were down to nothing. This worked if the master cylinder was filled exactly to the fill line. Nice design feature!

On the Honda, 4 oil changes, 1 air filter, and Amsoil MTF fluid.
Also got it KROWN rust proofed in the fall.
I did rotate the tires once, and now it has the new snow tires on it.

On my other cars.. As one other poster said, I would be typing forever. Especially the old Saturns.

2004 Subaru Legacy
Purchased July 2009 at 80,000 miles
The car now has 127,200 miles.

What I've done:

6 oil changes....Mobil 1
2 sets of tires/Alignment at 100K
Spark Plugs at 100K
NGK plug wires at 100K
Timing belt at 100K
V-belts at 100K
Valve cover gaskets at 100K
Spark Plug o-ring seals at 100K
Transaxle/Rear diff oil change at 100K
New battery at 100K
2 coolant drain and refill's + upper/lower radiator hoses
1 pair of CV axle boots, right front side

As you can see, my 100K service was pretty big, cost me $900!

The previous owner of this car had good service records, so the car has been well maintained.

If you want scary maintenance, I own a '83 BMW R100RT motorcycle I bought in 1992 with 42k miles on it, now has 93k.

The frame is original, and the transmission and driveshaft haven't been rebuilt. Most of the wiring harness is original, and I haven't taken apart the clock yet (or maybe I did and I forgot). Everything else has either been disassembled, repaired, rebuilt, replaced, welded, or been swapped with a much better engineered piece. Every single thing. I don't keep great notes (plus, a line in a file that says "rebuilt engine" takes up the same space as "changed oil"). The file is 7 pages long.

At least, when I fix something it stays fixed, as opposed to a car I had in high school where I went through a store-bought rebuilt starter and alternator every two years. I know more than I did in high school, so that had something to do with it.

It was supposed to be a good motorcycle when I bought it; i.e. not a "basket case". There's been speculation at times that it was a cop bike, but cops didn't ride BMWs back then in the U.S.

The aftermarket has been really great. They aren't anonymous companies, they're just guys working in barns who saw a deficiency and engineered a better part.

Hmmmm.

'08 BMW 528i, 49K
7 oil & filter changes (included in Maint plan)
1 brake flush (same)
1 battery (warranty)
1 Air filter (incl. in maint)
3 alignments, still pulls to the right (warranty so far)
1 set of tires (after OE)
multiple diagnostic and software updates, dash still occasionally switches randomly to metric and sometimes the distance to empty starts at 0 when full and works its way up to 500 when empty. Sometimes the nav screen goes blank for a minute or so. occasionally when we start the car it shows a car on a lift, but has no check messages, it also sometimes suggests chocking the wheels to make sure the car doesn't roll after putting it in park.
No mechanical issues.
The only thing we have had to pay for (besides the car) was one set of tires.

'06 FX45 @ 70K
Drivers seat replaced under warranty for poor leather
Dashboard replaced under warranty for bubbling
multiple alignments and front suspension checks for random vibration - finally decided it has a design flaw and the vibration went away.
5 sets of brake rotors (one set under warranty), 2 sets of pads
12 oil & filter changes w/ Mobil 1 10w30, now Pennzoil Ultra 5w30
ATF (matic S), front and rear diff change, brake flush, plugs and Belts @ 60K
3 batteries
both PCV valves at 70K
Air filters about every 20K
regularly tows a #3,500 trailer to and through the mountains

'06 G35 @ 130K
22 Oil & filter changes w/ Mobil 1 0w40
MTF, Diff oil and PCV valve changed @40,80,120K
Air filters about every 15K
Cabin air filter once
Radiator fan replaced under warranty @ 96K
Drivers power window motor replaced under warranty @ 35 K
5 A/C compressor belts (2 under warranty), 2 replacement main serpentine belts (A/C belts used to break regularly before I found gates racing belts - now they don't)
Front O2 sensors at 100K (as PM)
Brake & Clutch fluid flushed 2 times.
8 sets of brake rotors (one set under warranty), on 4th set of pads
2nd battery is getting weak.
