Louisiana . No property tax on vehicles .Cheap. What state?
Actually a little less than half that, but there is the stupid hybrid tax on top of it for the HAH.Around $65 for gas or diesel vehicles (amount can vary based on county tax or fees) and around $165 for a hybrid. Some genius in Ohio's House or Senate wanted to penalize "electric" vehicles because the state doesn't get fuel taxes for those but didn't know how to distinguish between EVs and hybrids.
One time or recurring???!?It's around $40 here in Virginia but personal property tax was $1,150 for my cars (in my signature) this year.
Amen to that.75 bucks. It was 25 when I lived in Missouri but I had to pay personal property tax. No PPT or state income tax in TX. No worries, they make it up in property taxes.
The actual "registration" fee the state charges is only $31 but the deputy registrar adds a fee along with others that bring it to $60-65 as long as you keep your existing plate. The $100 fee for hybrids is an additional amount, plug-in hybrids are $150, and as you say, full EVs are $200.Actually a little less than half that, but there is the stupid hybrid tax on top of it for the HAH.
Effective January 1, 2024, Revised Code (R.C.) section 4503.10(C), requires an additional registration fee for the following the following motor vehicles, per registration year:
- Hybrid vehicle - $100
- Plug-in hybrid - $150
- Electric vehicle - $200
The examples provided are, a $30k vehicle is $504 the 1st year, $435.67 the 2nd year, and $364.87 the 3rd year.A vehicle license tax is included as part of the annual fee to register your vehicle. It is based on an assessed value of 60 percent of the manufacturer’s base retail price reduced by 16.25 percent for each year since the vehicle was first registered in Arizona (15% before 8-1-98).
From there, the rate is calculated based on the assessed value. $2.80 per $100 of assessed value for new vehicles and $2.89 per $100 for used vehicles.
The deputy registrar is only allowed a fee of $5.00 with the rest consisting of locally imposed permissive taxes. The HEV, PHEV and EV charges are then applied. The actual "registration" fee the state charges is only $31 but the deputy registrar adds a fee along with others that bring it to $60-65 as long as you keep your existing plate.
