A lady in the Local buy and sell has this unopened 5gal bucket for sale for $65, worth it?

Other than cool factor, what would the oil be usefully in?

From what I can find it's API M.M.(Motor Medium?) rated, under modern classification it'd be like API SB, I'm not sure I'd even use it in a lawn mower. If the 5 gallon Container is in good shape it might be worth that for the vintage container but the oil is pretty useless.

There was a long abandoned service station near my home town, still showing a very old and rusty BA road sign. The nearby residence was occupied by two young (ahem) ladies. The rumor was that their names were Betty and Alice.

I never checked so that rumor might have been only a myth, a rural myth in this case.

The ancient oil is not worth anything practical, but to a collector might have value if just for display in a clear bottle or scientific study with a Blackstone analysis. I would not put it in any engine I cared about. I'd wager it's probably contaminated by moisture, maybe metallic rust particles, who knows. Very low quality oil by modern standards.

It has far more value to a collector or research than as a engine lubricant at this point. Analogy is using paper money as fire kindling.

The can is probably worth a bit to a collector on auction sites.

Unopened is probably the top dollar value.

It's cool but I wouldn't want it.
I would be afraid it would eventually leak.
