I went to the barber today and a woman tipped the barber $7 for a $13 haircut. Then a man tipped another barber $9 for him and his two sons haircuts. How much do you tip your barber ?

Depends on the price of the haircut (to some degree) or if I have a coupon. When the price was $15-16, I would add $4-5 to make it an even $20 transaction. My haircut is very simple with most "stylists" taking less than 10 minutes to complete so I don't think that tip amount is low. It's over 25% in fact.

I told the barber who opened a few years ago, his $13 cuts were too cheap; they are $17 now; I usually just give him a twenty.

Prior to him, I had the same barber for 15 years. I think i used to pay her $20 but over the years I stopped by the shop frequently and we became good friends. We used to go out to dinner a lot (my treat) and my haircuts started being on the house.

$5-7 on a $12-16 Great Clips cut that takes all of 10 minutes. Now my wife cuts it and my 2 YO son’s hair and I can’t tell a difference. It’s a PITA to sweep up the hair off the floor and clean the countertop since I trim my beard at the same time but the money and time saved makes up for it. I have her cut it every 2 weeks. Always looking fresh and saving $700+ a year.

I just go to Great Clips, I think it's $16 for a haircut? I only go every 3 months or so and my cut is simple. $10 tip. Takes 5-10 minutes.

Haven't been to a barber in a long time. My son cuts my hair so no tip from dad is expected. He isn't a professional barber but he does a fine job. Learned the craft while he was out at sea. The crew needs to be clean cut so he volunteered. He was good and after a couple of years he was just as competent as any barber on shore. When the ship returned from their patrol after chasing pirates and drug smugglers around the Caribbean the crew was inspection ready.

You live near a nuclear power plant that it grows so fast?
Haha, about 80 miles or so away. I do the sides and back with a #2 guard so it starts to look a bit shaggy for my liking by 3 weeks. My hair does grow pretty **** fast and it’s getting gray on the sides. The whites/grays seem to grow faster and are a different texture so a 2 week interval works great. She actually started cutting it during COVID after I had gone a few months and I realized how quick and easy, and cheap it was.
