My size was about 29.5" x 30" in HS, 29" was a little tight but 30" was a little loose. My weight was between 125-130lbs for about 40-45 years. One in a while it dropped to 120-122lbs for few months, but almost never got above 130lbs.

The last 20+ years my waist size was/is 30", some years it was a little loose, other years it was a little tight and some years it was perfect. The bonus is I could use the cloths I bought 15-20 even 25 years ago. I still have and wear some sweaters and bluejeans I bought in the 90's

I graduated in 2010 wearing 46x30.
I lost 140 Lbs to get to 190lbs to join the army.
Wore a 32x30 before OSUT.
Graduated OSUT, gained 10 lbs to be 200lbs/34x30
Became a chubby tanker, now at 230LBS/ 36x30

I was a 29 inch waist in high school (mid 80s),6'1 at 150 lbs.. Now I'm a 32 inch waist at 175 lbs.

Funny how differently people develop. I was still growing at the end of HS, was 6'2" and about 170. IIRC it was 29 or 30 waist and 34-36 inseam depending on the pant.

Weighed no more than 205 all through college with maybe a 40" chest. Didn't really start lifting and exercising until my 30s.

Now I'm 6'4" and 270, and wear 42 waist 34 length. Last suit I bought was in '08 and was a 52 chest...it's been let out twice since then and I just gave it away since they can't let it out any more. Guess I've finally filled out; haven't been measured recently.

Overheard a couple guys once bragging they wear the same size pants they did in HS....but noted that they have their belly hanging halfway to their knees.

Hanging over the belt or tucked into the pants?

I was 120 lbs, 30" waist, 5'11" in highschool and for about 6 years after.

The I moved to the USA for a year, came back weighing about 140 lbs but don't think my waist had changed at that time.

Roughly 10 years later now, and I'm 200 lbs (or just over), with a 34" waist. I can fit a 33" easily at the waist, but my legs usually won't fit.

I definitely got both fatter and gained muscle mass.

I'm almost your exact size, but I'm 6' 5 1/2" and 250#. I recently went from 275 to 249 by walking my dogs at least 2 miles a day and by riding my stationary recumbent bike 10 miles a day. It took over 6 months to see the results, though, but I didn't want to be like the rest of my RELATIVES AND HAVE A HEART ATTACK IN MY 60S.

HS isn't a fair measuring point.

At graduation/senior year, I was 6'1" and had a 30" waist and 39" chest, 6% body fat (I was wrestling). I weighed 165.

Graduating from college, I was rowing, similar body fat, same height, but had a 34" waist and 44" chest. I weighed 190.

Since then? Well...I'm going to my 30 year College reunion.

So...

1976 at graduation 32x32 180ish, farm boy, no fat, all that bailing hay was good for me.
2011 48x30 310ish - hadn't weighted myself in years, OMG!
Currently 250ish 42x30

I just had to bunch a new hole in my belt so by this time next year my goal is to be 40x30 230ish.

My waist has increased about an inch or so in the 54 years since high school. If I had any pants left from that era I could still wear them.

In college I gained about 10 pounds, and that's when I decided to drop the extra weight and live a healthy lifestyle. I also watched a lot of friends and family pack on the pounds over the years and that helped keep me motivated-I did not want to be one of the guys waddling about with a beer belly hanging over their belt.

Agreed.

I too was a rower in college, and the muscle gain over that time was a major difference over HS when I was playing football and lifting weights was a huge part of my life.

Senior year (college) I wore 34x34 pants and a 48L jacket.

Now I'm between 36-38 x 34 pants (my wife says I was too skinny senior year of college) and still wear a 48L suit jacket.
