The only time I bought QSUD was when they had the $10 rebate going on (which I still have yet to receive

), so I was buying solely on price then. I actually buy solely on price regardless of the brand. Whoever has the cheapest syn wins. At the time, it was QS.

i bought 2 jug of quakerstate UD yesterday because it was the cheapest synthetic there aside from supertech. my preference for OTS walmart oil would be synpower if price is no concern

i buy PP because it is always economical and is a very good oil imo. i just cant see spending 6or7 bucks a qt for another synthetic. if PP did not exist i would buy M1 from wal-mart if i had to have a syn, but more than likely i would just buy conventional oil.

I've used PP several times and consider it a good oil. Both are. Knowing what I know now, though, I buy whatever quality synthetic is cheapest.

Meaning, I haven't bought M1/PP/QSUD/PU/Edge/etc. in a very long time.

I purchased a 5qt. bottle at WM in Aug. for $18.50. With the rebate of $10, that was a good deal. Rebate was received within 6 weeks. I have not used QSUD previously, but it was good enough for my daughter's Mazda3 (5w-20). I would buy it again if the price is right. IMO any SOPUS product can go into my cars as the quality is there. FWIW--Oldtommy

I used to buy Pennzoil Platinum based on price.

It was a good price compared to Mobil 1, Syntec, etc...

Then I found Q-Horsepower Syn on clearance for $1.99 qt.

Bought all of their 5W30 and 1 6pk of 10W30 for my OPE

Not sure the point of saying "honesty please" for? Nothing to be ashamed of buying either because of price, promos and/or rebates. I've bought both because of GREAT deals. Once bought QSHP/UD jug for $8 after rebate.

Better, recently got a AAP 5qt. QSUD combo promo/coupon/rebate deal with P1 filter for ~8.50, running it now.

Bougth PP several times with Wally on jug coupon, and a Wally Visa rebate card deal.

Then again, just bought 2 cases of M1 EP for
Just makes buying PP and QSUD synthetic oils an even better deal.

If paying more for another synthetic makes one feel superior, congratulations.

Shell has honored every rebate I've sent in. They are the only one to offer $1 per quart after rebate.

They sell high quality competitive oils, which makes the deal a no brainer.

+1 My feelings exactly

I have to honestly say the price was a considering factor in my recent purchase of PP. In addition to being a forum favorite!

I have, the NEX was trying to clear the shelves of QSUD so they had it on clearance for $2.50 a quart if I'm not mistaken.

I am a life long Quaker State and Supertech user, but was never really interested in the syn offerings until the rebates. I was able to pick up a few jugs of Q-Horsepower for $8/jug, and then really scored on the Q-Torquepower, finding some for $5/jug!

Let's just say that I take full advantage of the syn and as I get older, enjoy not having to change oil in the winter time.
I'll run it to 8000+ miles and change it in Spring.

The same goes for my mother's '08 Cobalt. I ran the factory fill, one 5K run of PYB, and it's been on Q-Torquepower ever since, following the OLM.

I buy all of my synthetic oils on sale. I don't have a brand I use, just whatever has the sale tag on it when I pick up oil for a change. I've used Castrol, Penzoil, QS, Mobil, Shell, and Esso XD so far.

i bought quakerstate syn just to try it since hyundai recomended it in the owners manual.used mobil 1 supertec and chevron conventional 5/30.that is in my 09.my 03 is running synpower i got at aap realcheap when they changed fourmulas.it has seen many kinds of oil syns and conventionals.neither one burns any oil when i change at the 5000 mile mark.and i do not see any difference in perfourmance the 2.7 and 3.3 idle smooth and quiet on all of them.i dont think that there is that much difference in the oils produced today.

I absolutely purchased PP/QSUD based on price and will continue to do so - best bang for the buck when you factor in the those great SOPUS rebates.

Bought my first PP from AAP BOGO.
Bought some in the fall of '09 from Meijer on clearance at $1.49/qt.
Bought some in the summer of '09 at $5.00/5 qt jug after MIR.
Have some QTP I bought for $9.00/5 qt jug on clearance from Walmart.
Both QSUD and PP are very good oils.
I'd consider either one as good as M1.
Buying them really cheap is only icing on the cake.
Thanks, SOPUS.
