I've been using Pennzoil synthetics since Pennzoil started making synthetic oil, but before that, my family has used Pennzoil conventional oil for over 65 years. Everything from 30W to 20W50, in everything from a 1937 Chevrolet to a 1990 Porsche. Why? Found no reason to change.

I use the 10W30 in my 72' Chevelle and my wife's 87' Camaro. Neither car sees very many miles, so I use dino. All of my lawn and garden 4 cycle engines get Penzoil HD30. This includes 1 Kohler, 1 Wisconsin and 5 Briggs. All we've EVER used, always worked great. No failures, no sludge, no consumption issues.

Pennzoil 5w30 has given me excellent UOA's on my Caravan (posted here.

I chose to try it about 3-4 years ago because at that time it was sitting on the top pedestal here at BITOG (along with others). Johnny, correct me if I am wrong......back then, it was rumored that Pennzoil was using the same "new" iso-syn hydrocracking technology as Chevron to produce it's group II+ base oil.

I think many of us have underlying biases when choosing oils: ideas we grew up with, bottle color preferences, etc., that we never quite give up....ever.

I have a stash of rummage sale Pennzoil(SL)Ill be using this winter, my Dad's used it forever.

Its just fine, especially if on sale!!!
.....+1 for Johnny's retirement....
