I turned 16 on December 8, 1985, and got my learner's permit (which at the time was known here as the "365") the very next day. I would have got it right on my birthday except that year it fell on a Sunday so the license offices were closed

As soon as I got the learner's permit I immediately made an appointment to go for my full license (you could do that back then, nowadays there is graduated licensing here, so it takes you a year or two to get the full license) and I believe that ended up being around the middle of January 1986. I passed on the first try. So I've been on the road legally for 24 years now. I actually started driving when I was 15 though. My dad used to let me drive whenever we made road trips to the US if we were in small towns (on back roads where there wasn't much traffic) We travelled a lot back then since I raced BMX. So I got a lot of practice driving before I got my license!

OVERK1LL and addyguy, both of you are younger than I thought you were! I thought both of you were older than me.

full license 11 years, got it 1 month after my 18th birthday.

kids today, we had a few 23 year olds still without their license at work...

Got my learners permit a few months after I turned 15 to go with my drivers education class. Got my "Intermediate" License at 16.
Stupidly, since it expired on my 21st birthday, I got it reissued a couple days early so I wouldnt roll on expired license. So it still says "Intermediate License" and "Age 21 on.." even though its a regular license now that Im over 21.
So... 7 years or so.
