49 years with a license. 1 non chargeable accident 34 years ago and 2 tickets, the last of which was over 30 years ago.

58 years if you count the time driving vehicles around the farm and on farm roads before I was of legal driving age.

In Michigan, when I was a kid, not sure if it's still this way. You could drive any farm owned truck/tractor/implement on any public access road while doing any farm/agricultural business at the age of 14.

Needless to say, that was one vaguely written law that got tested to it's absolute limits in my case.

quarter century.

Got my learners at 16 and 9 months exactly. My driving instructor negotiated my final test for the day before my 17th birthday (they were closed for 2 weeks after Christmas). Got my licence.

Drove to midnight mass on Learners, and home on licence...and got RBTd.

Learner's permit, driver's ed, and then my license all in the same year( 1984 ). I was 16. 42 now so 26 years. I can honestly say I never drove illegally.

43 years!

I was in the last batch of kids in the state of Texas able to get a driver's license under the old law at age 14, with driver's ed(or age 16 without). The new law had already been passed, changed to age 16 w/driver's ed, age 18 without- but it didn't go into effect until 01/01/1968, I think. You better believe that every 14-15 yr old that could make it took driver's ed the summer of '67- I sure did. So long ago, my first license didn't even have a photo on it!

Started driving trucks around hay fields and assorted farm use 17 years ago; got my permit 15 years ago, car license 14 years ago and motorcycle license 9 years ago.

Me? Oh, almost 35 years longer than I ever should have been allowed to be on the roads (other than as a passenger...)!

I can't believe it's been 63 years. Ohio still issued a license at 14 for restricted purposes in 1947. I learned to drive on my father's 1940 Chrysler ( No driving schools back then) He was a TOUGH teacher! My grandmother lived on the other side of town and was a reason for a restricted license. Wow, what an opportunity for a young kid! Life was much simpler back then as seen from the front porch . Still doing oil changes until I cant get under the car. --Oldtommy
