It's likely good for more than 15k IMO. When Mobil rates the oil I think they have to be somewhat on the conservative side since it's not for a single application.

In Canada Mobil 1 Extended Performance is rated at 12k instead of 15k. So there appears to be an adjustment for severe service based on climate but not as large as some people claim and that you need to do 300 mile trips every day.

A friend uses Mobil 1 5w30 Extended Performance in his(was, it's now sold) 2002 Ford Windstar with 200K. He changed every 15-16K and his engine stayed clean, ran smooth, and showed no sign of engine wear.

If vehicle is under warranty, then change oil when vehicle's OLM or other oil change indicator tells you to.
