How long does routine maintenance take you?

+1.
It ain't that hard, and it doesn't take that long.
We have five on the road at the moment, and we are doing about 70K/yr total.
That's a lot of routine services, as well as repairs and replacements on our aging fleet, and I don't regard car maintenance and repair as a weekend hobby.
Get 'er done!
Also, do it right the first time.
Finally, the second time you do anything will take you a quarter as much time as the first.

Well, glad I'm not alone in this!

I used to use Rhino ramps but they don't work so well when you want to rotate the tires as well!

And KrisZ: I know, I really should enlarge the inspection hole to avoid removing the splash guard. I've done a couple oil changes on a friend's 2010 Mazdaspeed3 which has a spin on filter and, to boot, they've corrected the hole placement to line up with the filter. had to take the splash guard off the first time to remove the factory-torqued filter but the second time was a breeze!

10 mins on a Cobalt with the cartridge filter 2.2 Ecotec.
20 mins if I try to let every last drop of oil drain from the sump.

I was able to change the filter on a 2008 Mazda3 with the 2.0 liter motor without removing the skid plate. I just used the oil filter pliers to loosen the old filter, then snaked my hand up to pull the old filter out... and then snaked my hand back up there to thread the new filter in.

Actual work only takes me about 15 minutes if no rotate. With rotate probably 25 minutes.

The problem is, my tools are stored deep inside the shed so getting the tools out and putting them back in can easily take me 30 minutes.

I take about 1.5 hours to do an oil change on both cars. I have to gather all my stuff out of the shed and haul it out to the driveway which takes time as well. I like to take a look under there as well to see any new issues developing with suspension parts etc...

Don't you end up coating the splash guard with oil this way?
