How long does it take a wheel bearing to warm up?

Efficient cars use spherical bearings for lower resistance. Downside is periodical replacement. I wouldn't worry about "warm-up" but number of curb hits and pot-holes.

If you to look at the bigger picture, I'd say that the friction difference between roller bearings and balls are so little that it doesn't matter anymore.

In other words: it's indifferent.
