Is there a significant reason the syn-blend would be better to run in a Jeep Compass 2.4L that sees 75% in town and probably less than 10k per year? Mom has one and she took it to the quick lube and they put in Durablend for the Up-sell and I am thinking I will change the oil for her at least some of the time and I think I would have probably used the YB jug from Walmart...Do you think a strong case could be made for the syn-blend instead? Mixed climate here...typical winter is 20* & summer 100* but of course we see some colder & hotter temps at times...I was thinking 5w30 also instead of the 5w20...but I supposes that is a whole other issue.
I think this thing has some kind of rudimentary OLM system but not as sophisticated as the GM one...I was thinking of just doing 5k OCI so it would work out about every 6 months or so...maybe the in town driving and 5k would warrant the syn-blend?
