How Good Is Quaker State Ultimate Durability SN+ At Cleaning Engine ?

Curious to learn how good is Quaker State Ultimate Durability at cleaning engine internals with a standard severe duty OCI of 3,750 miles (big city suburban driving) ?

It'll probably clean or keep clean what you already have, as well as any other synthetic oil.
If you're changing you oil every 4K-5K miles, I can't see where you need any extra cleaning.
NOW of course, if you neglect your OCI's, then you may want an oil that makes better claims for cleaning.

I wouldn't expect any miracles with any oil in removing most accumulated sludge and varnish. If you are starting with a clean engine already, your selection ( with proper OCI's) will maintain its cleanliness.

I do double that interval (7500 miles) in Boston traffic and my engine is clean with quick lube Pennzoil.

Has this vehicle been maintained or are you just starting with an unknown?
If the engine is new to you and shows chunks of blackness under oil fill cap or down into the valve train -not necessarily proof of a horridly filthy engine- I'd go with a Mobil 1 product as they are ALWAYS praised here as good cleaning oils.

That's not to say they're the only good ones.

You can also use oil meant for both - gas and diesel engines as oils for diesel engines have better cleaning abilities.

In a well maintained engine using 4K D1/Gen 2 rated synthetic oils since new ... **Perhaps better to phrase the question : "Does Quaker State Ultimate Durability D1 / Gen 2 rated oil clean as well as other D1 / Gen 2 rated synthetic oils over a fairly benign 4K mile OCI" ?
