How Chinese oil filters are made

I think there are decent products that come out of China and there are some not so decent products as well. I don't have a problem with products that are made with the understanding that they are made in China with no deception as to what the product is. I do have a problem with a company that is willing to place OEM labels and boxes with their products to make them to appear like a better product than they are. Counterfeiting damages the reputation of OEM products as people purchase them and think they are genuine products. For this reason, I choose to purchase products from reputable sources and purchase those products on sale in quantity.

I have found that that site pretty much only sells counterfeit products in large quantities. I would stay away from that site.

There has always been both good and bad products coming out of China.

Just like any other country.

The thing is, Will you buy them knowing that it supports an oppressive government?

Can you really get around not buying items from China. Some things you can, most things you can't. Even food is coming from China these days. Juicy Juice for my kids says made in China.

Well, of course SOME. I'm not 100% sure of whether you may or may not get a filter from that factory at a Jiffy Lube, though.

These are some other ones manufactured in China. Given that they're constructed to OEM specifications, they should be at least somewhat of a quality product. What ever may be up with that "Made in Germany" printing on the Mercedes filters, I don't know. Maybe the packaging is made in Germany or so.

I think we may well be looking at some counterfeit parts there. I am highly skeptical that those brands are being manufactured in the primitive facility shown in the earlier photos.

We do not have a factory in China, we do source about 6% of products sold in the USA from China and other countries. We still use the same filter media and the products are thoroughly tested in our engineering labs. FRAM has never and would never use a factory like the one pictured.

Simply not true, less than 6% of what we sell in the USA comes from China, when it does, they use the same filter media and the products are very thoroughly tested. We are investing millions of dollars in production machinery to bring even more production into the USA. Over 90% of all our products are made in Ohio and Illinois

Daimler has never messed around when it comes to their service parts.
They cost a bit more, but their QA is over-the-top.
