Thanks Scott! She does present well! There are a few pain chips that I’ll address with a paint pen, but really very minimal rust being a 13y.o Mid West car.
I had to look that up. Looks like a pretty good kit - even the basic ones have some kind of blending solution. I bought the duplicolor paint correction pen a few months ago - haven’t tried it out yet. It’s very basic with a scuffing tip on one side and the factory color paint and clear coat brush on the other side.

The thing is with Dr. Color Chip it doesn’t leave a blob of paint that’s uneven with the original paint. You use their paint and pink solution to fill the chip hole, which makes the chip repair blend at the same level as the original paint. It usually takes 2 or 3 applications to make it perfect. I’ve had very good luck with Dr. Color Chip. Take your time.
Small update here:
She’s now on her 3rd OCI with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30. Last time around, I lost oil on the dipstick down to the 2nd to last cross hatch. I know I wasn’t all the way to the top when I had doing the previous oil change. Probably about 75% of the way up. This time I was careful to get the oil to the top cross hatch for better reference over the next 5k miles. No make up oil was added.
I did run 2 cans of the CRC GDI cleaner through the intake. Probably threw money away ChatGPT claims the intake looks better fwiw (picture is from cyl 3).
Also, got camshaft adaptation values using VCDS. -1.58 degrees on the exhaust and -3.16 degrees on the intake.
Going to run a cold start misfire test tomorrow or day after and verify that’s 0 across the cylinders too.
Had some time this morning and verified cold start misfires with VCDS (recorded 1 on cyl 1 and 0 on all other cylinders). Rechecking the values after 30 seconds once the engine had idled down shows 0 on all cylinders.
I’m hopeful I don’t have anything minus maybe a worn passenger side engine mount.
