Are you guys paying for it? Last time I checked oil analysis was expensive! I've got 2 bottles ready to go from a kit I received a while ago and they should be free. Not sure who the company is at the moment. Just curious.

BTW the 2 samples should be 2000 Ford Focus 2.0L with Motorcraft Filter and Royal Purple 5W-20

AND

1998 Ford Expedition 4.6L RWD with Motorcraft filter and Mobil1 5w30

I hope to run both near 7500 miles.

Free?

I want in on this.
Send me 50 sample kits. I'll fill 'em up and happily pay shipping.

woohoo....free!

oil analysis depends on what package and what lab you use. 12 bucks is the basic without TBN at most labs. 20 and up for the most pricey labs.

I've heard that Shaeffers does analysis for around $10 or less. Anybody know how/where to order?

Yeah. Schaeffer's cost me $60 for 6 samples. Click BOBISTHEOILGUY right to the right of where the board says "Hello, glennc" and then click on Support Our Sponsors.
Then find the link for our current Schaeffer's rep.
The one I used to do my order is no longer the sponsor, but the ordering process was simple and painless.

Thanks. I checked out Oil Guard and indeed the kits were $30 for three, but they wanted $10 to ship them to me and return shipping wasn't included. I thought I read that the $10 per Shaeffer's kit included shipping.

I guess I'll get in touch with one of the Schaeffers reps.

I use Blackstone, the kits are "free" but the analysis costs $20.
That said, I don't get a UOA with every oil change either.
