How about a forum for Spark Plugs ?

sigh, yet another internet expert with the only correct opinion.

you can't build more power by arbitrarily switching spark plugs. no matter how much you spend on plugs and believe their marketing hype to make yourself feel good it's not going to make power.

on the other hand, multi-electrodes can make the plug last longer. got nitrous burning the tips off of your plug? you need more durable material. your MSD system eroding electrodes? you need something more durable. exotic materials and fancy electrodes come into play to fix existing issues.

if you want to say that a certain plug lasts longer due to it's design features I'll agree with you. you want to say that a certain engine runs a little better (note I didn't say more power) with a non oem plug with some proof behind it, I'll consider it.

you are not making "more" power with a spark plug switch, everything else being equal. show me proof that you are! got dyno charts? got oscilloscope? got lap times? got ETs? idle smoothness and seat of the pants don't count.

what about a plug with 2 center electrodes and 8 ground straps. would that make more power?

that's quite a conspiracy you've come up with about NGK.

The dyno showed my power increased slightly when I changed to NGK Iridiums from normal style NGK plugs. The old plugs were nearly new by the way. Dyno owner put Iridiums in his B4 Subaru after seeing my results. An unshrouded plug like an Iridium should be better. Have a look at the picture of flame pattern on the NGK website. Cheers..s

Reminds me of when a neighbor's boy bought an old riding mower. He told me he was going to get a Spitfire spark plug for it and double his hp!

Nasty. I just re-did mine onthe CRV at 30k, They were clean and fresh looking, gap looked a lil wide(er). I lacked the specific gap so I took them from .045 to .035, result was good n smooth. Now I found the spec at .040. So, I guess they are set right and will open up a bit over time. ECU / Engine Control Forum is sounding pretty good and would be kinda unique...like BitOG already is.
