The wires arrived yesterday.

for speedyperformanceparts.com.

The difference in quality is apparent. The NGKs appear to be much studier and more substantial. And as a bonus they're a stylish shade of blue

Removing the old ones wasn't too tough. All four of them came apart in one way or another, but needle nose pliers got everything out easily. Two of the spark plugs took a bit of a turn to get them to the 156 in-lb tightness, but not much. The NGK wires were ~ 1" shorter than the corresponding generic ones. Got 'em all plugged in and the car runs fine. Will track mileage to see if there's a change.

Anybody know if Advance might gimme a refund or credit for the crapola wires? Each one is in 2 or 3 pieces, so that they weren't any good is not in question.

You probably got the same ones I got

Can't wait to get mine in the mail. You might be able to get credit for your old ones if you can find the receipt and/or packaging with warranty info. If not, they might be willing to sympathize with you and refund you.

The last word (I hope) on this tale: I took the rubbish wires back to Advance, they looked up my purchase history and quickly refunded the full price, no hassels
