House passes bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent

What is it that bugs everyone that doesn't like DST? Is it really the fact that 2x a year you change a few clocks etc.? Is it when it gets light/dark?
Do a search of "the bad effects of changing the clocks". Peer reviewed research studies claim health issues, more car accidents, etc. occur with each change of the clock. Like everything, study the facts to form an educated opinion.

As I get older, rolling the clocks forward in the Spring gets harder on the body. Research shows the increase in heart attacks, car crashes, and the fact babies get messed up means staying at one time makes the most sense. I too would enjoy it getting dark sooner in the summer to help alleviate some darkness in the winter mornings.

I applaud this and hope it leads to real change. Plus, I am tired of hearing it in the news twice a year. It ranks with- July and record heat, and January and record cold. Can't fix that (though people could just realize summer is hot and winter is cold), but we can fix the time issue.

Does this also translate when we travel to one time zone east/west of your current zone? I suppose any sort of sleep disruption creates issues but here, it's 1 hour so should take your body about 1-2 days to adjust. I'll have to dive in....I will fire up ChatGPT...

Yes, dive in. You seem to be judging the situation based only on your experience with it. If it's easy for you, it should be easy for everyone? Data shows increased heart attacks, strokes, and fatal car accidents associated with the time changes. A lot of people simply dislike the biannual annoyance.

A seven page jousting contest over a biannual hourly time change that’s been in effect for over a half century. PFFFFT. I worked a swing shift for a couple of years in my early twenties. 8 hours on first shift for a week then 2 days off. 8 hours on second shift for a week then 2 days off. 8 hours on third shift for a week then 4 days off, rinse and repeat. Yes, it was tough, but I didn’t have a heart attack or stroke and didn’t crash my car. I haven’t used the alarm function on my bedside clock in years so I don’t care either way.

Try harder, this is major stuff man....I hope all these folks don't travel and stay in their time zones 100% of the time for those increased risks ahahah

Seems like about the same argument someone was making about the whole kids/school/dark mornings and the anti-DSL folks saying "whatever/tighten up/they'll live" probably b/c they don't have kids so like you say, great for some, not for others. I'll do whatever they say, this is so low on my proverbial annoyance totem pole it doesn't register I guess.

The only winning move in life, is to sit down, pop your doctor prescribed pills, and wait patiently for death. Anything resembling exercise or proper diet or taking control of your life is just too difficult these days. 🤷‍♂️

Alot has to do with where in the time zone you live, east to west and north to south which makes a difference on daylight hours. And then you have the people that will whine about not knowing when to change the batteries in the fire detectors.

I can't think of a time where I ever questioned it or had an issue with it. Some people really stew over this?
I certainly don't stew over it - but doing something that disruptive to so many people for no other reason than "it's what we've done for a long time", doesn't make much sense.
