Horsepower. Less is sometimes more!

I'm often the fastest person on the road in my 50-horsepower penalty box. Don't ask me about acceleration though - it has to be planned well in advance, and if I have to slow down, forget it - it'll be a while until I regain speed, particularly going uphill.

Note that the reason the ZL-1 consistently whips the GT500 at road courses is that it can put its power to the roadway instead of a smoke show. This despite several hundred pounds more weight and a lot less HP.

I agree. When my friend told me about that, I was surprised that they hadn't put more work into making that thing plant the rear end.

Heck, the Jeep suspension does a hilariously good job of putting down power (in the dry) considering what tires are on it (255/65R16 Toyo A/Ts at 30 psi in the rear, they'll only spin if I flash the converter hard from a dead stop). If I threw some drag radials back there, it would probably be impossible to spin them without more power (it makes around 300 - 320 hp and 400 - 440 ft lbs at the crank by my best estimates, weighs 4300 in street trim with a full tank of gas).
