Honda VTM-4

Have already purchased a gallon of VTM-4 from a dealer, after doing some initial search it looks like same as Honda ATF or PSF - proprietary one

Is there any 'generic' replacement consensus on it?

Not that I know of. I just use the Honda juice in my Pilot's rear diff. and fuggedaboutit.

Stick with the OEM fluid

I have been a Ridgeliner for eleven years of of fluid changes.
Never have seen a replacement for VTM-4 fluid.

Never found a replacement either. While a little pricey, you don't use a whole lot, there's some left over for the next job (but not enough).

That fluid had been in use in CRV rear differentials for years.

I've given up trying to determine whether or not all the Honda fluids are the same or different. VTM-4, Dual Pump, and my MDX takes DPSF...different color and composition from Dual Pump but maybe it's the same as VTM-4 as now the Hondas all have basically the same SH-AWD system that used to be Acura exclusive. I just stick with what the book says.
