I have been looking for filters for my Hondas because my usual choices moved production to China. I stumbled across this Video that validates that these are actually made in Japan by MAHLE!

the best OEM Honda oil filter is the one Purflux makes for Europe

If you still want Mahle, you could always get an aftermarket Mahle

I could not find the Purflux for a good price, and the Mahle is another one that sent production to Mexico or China.

Honestly, for a Honda, I'd just use any aftermarket Fram 7317. The aftermarket Frams are better than even the OE Honda A02

If you don't like Fram, use the Full 2-OHD004 from Napa.

In my experience, Honda Oil Filters that are/were installed at assembly are/were made by FIL-TEC. But the ones that you get at a Honda Dealership is a FRAM Tough Guard painted Honda Blue.

The actually sell it here in Canada at the Honda/Acura dealerships. They sell for $14.72CAD before taxes. Just don’t mind the Vic oil filter beside it. I was just making some comparisons between the two “Made in Japan” oil filters.

I thought the PLM and RTA were not interchangeable. My understanding is that only the S2000 and one other car I can’t recall use the RTA and all other Hondas use the PLM

IF you can actually get the Mahle-Tennex filter it is in my opinion a good choice.

Date on Filter is wrong, it was 20.

ISO Code was 24/23/15

UOA:

Mobil 1 5W/30 EP HM with a splash of V-Twin, 5557 miles, 1996 Acura 3.5 RL
