Just saw a guy putting in syn blend Honda oil. It was SN GF5 and is available in 5-20 and 5-30.This is a black bottle with a gold cap. From the stealer here on LI and Queens it is about $7.

$7 LOL!!!!

MC 5w-20 at least has always been a blend, -30 may also be.

I believe their 5w-20 met the honda spec.

Seems liek a marketing or sales ploy.

Shipping and cost from HandAacessories .com would be 4.30 qt on a east coast delivery. West coast as they are in N Calif area would of course be less. The price with them is 2.70$ So a case of 12 would come out to $4.30 or so east coast, with delivery. This is the blend Conoco is making available to HONDA as with Motorcraft.Wonder if any difference in the two???? Yeah more money with Honda oil. Cannot see Honda selling Walmart like Ford did.

I called P.S. and South Shore

What is the pricing on dexos? $7/qt too?

It appears to me that the price issue here is buying any oil retailed in quart containers at a dealership. My local Ford dealers charge $6/qt for Motorcraft 5W-20 which I buy elsewhere for 1/2 or less.

I would be willing to bet that there's no significant difference between ConocoPhilipps blended Honda oil and Motorcraft (albeit I haven't seen any MC SN GF5 on the shelves yet). Honda dealers do their customers a disservice with rip-off oil prices.

It's interesting to me that the online source you mentioned (HandA) is indicating that Conoco's 5W-20 synthetic blend is (quoting the ad) "Only For Years 2008-2010." I can't think of why that would be correct, but it will be interesting to see a VOA in order to compare "Honda Motor Oil" with Ford's/Conoco's Motorcraft 5W-20 blend. I'm betting they are the same,

A Chevron distributor here in the midwest, told me that they are selling Havoline 0W20 (in drums) to area Honda dealers. If it were not so pricey ($35 for 6 quarts), I would be trying it in a 2010 Ford Focus. It's very thin for a 20 wt oil: 8.0 cst@100C and 41 cst@40C. It also meets the Ford spec WSS-M2C930-A, according to the Chevron web site.

Check your local Walmart. Mine now carries SN GF-5 Motorcraft oil. There's a large yellow "sticker" on the product decal on the jug that says, "Now meets API SN" or something like that.

Yes good idea on that voa, have e mailed HandA re. the years usage question, will do voa on Motorcraft and Honda oil in Jan, right now I have to control spending,

I got that answer about the years you mention, if other years would apply and I know you will not be surprised, but they say all they know is what we know and could not answer the question. However they were polite and for me here in NY that is really welcome. I asked a local stealer Southshore

if the oil change they charge $35 is now the blend and they say only it is Honda oil. Not if it was a blend just Honda oil. You cannot cure stupid.

Good to know it's starting to show up. As of yesterday, my local WMs in Oregon aren't stocking it. I'll keep watching. Thanks.

Really I'd love to find it as its the spec for my new 2011 Accord. As far as I know all 0-20 are full synthetic.

Call your local oil distributors that carry Conoco oil, they might have it.

0w-20, 0w-30 and 0w-40's are available from various manufacturers as synthetic blends.
