Just picked up this mower for free. That being said, what weight oil would you go with? I attached the manual page below. I’m thinking 20w50 myself

Well gee, the OEM recommends 10w-40 down to -15C so I guess you could use just about anything that ends in 40.......

I'd probably run a 15w40 HDEO. At my WalMart at least, a quart of 15w40 is about 50 cents cheaper than the supertech 20w50.

I would go with 5w30. I like to mow my lawn when it's -30F.

When was that manual printed? API service class SE has been obsolete for automotive applications since 1979.

To the point of your question, a 10w-30 or 5w-40 is probably all you need. I've run Mobil1 10w-30 High Mileage in my mowers for years.

most 20W-50 is gasoline engine oil - the diesel spec 15W-40 is almost always more fortified with additives.
