Working on a Honda generator. No spark at plug. Tried two different plugs. No spark. Took the top off to expose the coil. Pulled the wire that leads out to all the safety devices off and still no spark. Coil right? Oil low feature N/A because wire is off. Ignition N/A because wire is off. Coil....right?

Unplug the wires from the coil and test it with VOM.
I don't know the specs off the top of my head but i'm sure google will direct you to an engine service manual.

It's a transistorised coil, so you can only test the secondary for shorts/opens.

If the generator comes with low oil cutoff switch, also check that first to see if it's open.

Q.

Pulled the coil. Stared at it ("men who stare at coils"). Cleaned it up (it was pretty clean already) and sanded the rust off the flywheel. Put it back on and the engine started. I think the plug wire may have some damage inside. Moving it around restablished contact. The guy didn't want to replace it if it was working. Told him that WHEN it quits producing spark again, he should buy a coil and come "help" me install it. He's going to be mad when his race car trailer goes black in the middle of the drag races.

On another note, I hadn't tinkered with a larger Honda generator before. It's amazing what quality you get with the jillion dollar model.

you mean like the 3000ui i have in my garage that cost 2k+

I didn't even look at the size/model. Since I didn't need to get the part, I just ignored it (plus it's hot as b*lls here). Took two full grown men to get it on my bench. It ran so slow when not under load, I could barely hear it. Sounded like it was winding down close to dying, but was running perfectly/steadily.
