Does anyone know for sure the peak torque output of the Honda GCV160? This is the vertical shaft (lawn mower) 5.5 hp OHC engine.
My shop manual lists 8.4 lb*ft, and shows a torque curve that agrees with that. But Honda's website (honda-engines.com) lists it as 7.4 lb*ft, and shows a torque curve that reads about 8.0 lb*ft. Both the shop manual and the website show matching horsepower curves, and at 2500 rpm (peak torque), it generates about 4.1 maximum horsepower, which equates to about 8.6 lb*ft of torque. Anyone know for sure what the real figure is?
Thanks,
Jason
