Honda Dealership done messed up

Sorry guys on the no updates. I called them and talked to them after, they keep claiming that the head was weak and cracked upon removal (don't believe it). They ended up replacing the head, VTC actuator, timing chain, timing tensioner, a ton of gaskets and a fuel line elbow.

Car no longer sounds like crap on startup anymore. Runs fine. Just upset that they did what they did/ probably not telling the truth.

Obviously I walked in on some open heart surgery. I ask what is going on. He responds "when it was put back together it wasn't put back together correctly. And because of that the engine head was cracked.

So the hood was popped (but not open) and the chain was bungee corded to the hood?

That's what I did when I replaced my exhaust cam so I wouldn't lose tension. Put the bungee hook into the TDC link so I wouldn't mess that up, too. Left my engine open. Timing chain out. Car went for another 150k before I traded it. No issues. I think there may be some overreaction from some about the minute details. They should've told you, for sure. But I doubt you'll find boulders and leaves and sod chunks in your engine.
