Honda Civic EPB maintenance mode issue

I’ve had the Autel scanner for several years now, and tested brake pad maintenance mode in the past, but never changed the pads (didn’t need to). Now that I’m ready to swap the rotors and pads, I’ve decided to test the maintenance mode again, but I’m getting en error that scanner is unable to connect to the E-brake system. Scanning for codes or faults - nothing comes back. EPB works fine, I’m able to see total count of EPB activations and it updates. Is that an issues with car electronics or a scanner issue? Anyone had this problem before?

On my 2021 Honda HRV the Innova scanner that I have does the EPB feature with no problems...
