Hey @all.
Here is a new UOA of my Honda. This time I filled the entire oil filling with the new API SP release. It is noticeable that the fuel intry is very low, the additive centralisation is at fresh oil level, even the TBN is still very good. So I will leave the oil up to 460000 kilometres in it and only then renew it. A new analysis will then follow. Please note that the new mobile 1 FS variant already starts with an iron concentration of 3ppm and an aluminum concentration of 1ppm. In this regard, the analysis reads very well, doesn't it?

I find it weird that the oxidation in the new SP version is only 1. The VOA we have in our database also shows 1. Just looking at the other low ester content oils in the database, they seem to start off around 5-7. Even the new Castrol Euro 40 grade that is API SP starts off a 7.

This time I will drive the entire 20000 kilometres interval with an oil filling. Then I calculate the iron, aluminum and copper concentration at 1000 kilometres. If I look at the VOA of the FS 0W40 API SP like this, with 3 ppm iron and 1 ppm aluminum, then it can be seen from my UOA that I only have 6ppm iron and 5ppm aliminium "wear" on 10000 kilometres.

Yes, that is correct. This Honda Civic is in First Hand, only Serviced by Honda every 20000 kilometres and was build in 2008. the Engine is r18a2.

We have a '12 Civic with the R18 engine and that's enticing to run a 0W-40 in it. Currently run 5W-30 and it sounds quieter and feels smoother. I know this engine allows for 10W-40 elsewhere in the world but the simplicity with 5W-30 is it's what I use in our (2) others cars.
