The Honda branded filter, whether made by Filtec or Fram, is a relatively low efficiency filter.
Since either is built to the specs Honda gave the filter manufacturers and since Honda has built a few engines, I'd have no problem with a Honda branded oil filter.
The Ultra is a far more efficient filter, whether that matters or not.
Honda apparently feels that it doesn't.
Anyway, both filters would work just fine.
I like the idea of more efficient oil filtration, but most of the Japanese OEMs seem to have other priorities in their branded oil filters.
Well I knew the first owner and its on its 3rd timing belt, and he changed 3 QTs of ATF Z1 then DW-1 with each oil change.
basically he kept it very well, It shifts really nice.
somtimes when I hit the gas hard at a stop I can feel it shift hard but I think I should feel it.
also My Dad knows a place that put will rebuild and do the R&R for 800$
on My Dads Oddessy his trans filter was clogged.
Also Im going to put a Wix Trans Filter on it any day.
