Does anyone know at what PSI the bypass valve opens on these Honda filters? The -A01 is made by Filtech and the -A02 is a Honeywell.

Hmm let me ask this a different way... What relief valve PSI should I be looking for in aftermarket filters that best apply to a 2004 Honda Element's 2.4 L engine requirements. Wix recommends their 51356 filter with a relief valve of 8 - 11 PSI and Purolater's PureOne is PL14610 at 14 - 18 PSI. Quite a big difference...

Maybe I should stick with OEM?

I was wondering the answer to this question as well. I'm using a filter that's recommended for the newer Honda/Acura cars on a car that recommends the older, wider filter that typically has a lower bypass setting and I was wondering what the OEM was to compare it to. Maybe someone else here knows. Sorry I couldn't help.

It's the same question you would ask if you had a 5.0 1985 Ford. Purolator's standard/generic setting is around there 11-16 and Wix uses 8-11. Some engines have specific needs and they tend to have special settings for those applications (not always).
