...I guess it easier to just blame the owner/operator than their favourite brand of car or oil or god forbid some electronic wizard or even a design flaw.

Quoted for truth. I see this "the driver is lying" attitude frequently on this forum, even when the driver is present in the conversation. If the driver followed the "time to change oil" or 7500 interval, it's not really his fault. It's the engineers.
 
Theres a difference between a design flaw and owner neglect.
Some know the difference and some dont.
Every engine is different
