Honda 125cc Z-50 Clone $4000

What do you guys think of that new Z-50 Honda Monkey bike clone that is coming out in September or October? They are going to be sold for approximately $4000.00 US and I was thinking about getting one since I had a few Honda mini bikes in my day. They look a lot like the Honda minis of the late 60's and early 70's. I used to have 6 of these bikes at one time just cause I thought they were cool and I bought them used and cheap. Sorry, but I don't have the link.

They are not clones. They are the real deal that had to travel back to Japan to find themselves, now they are back with more CCs and fuel injection.

That's a high price considering a CRF50 can be had for $1900 CAD. Might be a good idea to wait until the buzz dies down and they start getting discounted.

Z50s were becoming very expensive last I checked, especially the hardtails. Good for Honda to cash in by bringing a very cool JDM model that everyone wants here.

I do agree it is quite a bit of money, goes up a couple hundred for ABS Too.

OMG 4g's for that, Id rather buy a used bike for that much money. You can get a lot of bike(used) for 4g's even some 1L bikes.
If all you want is a toy then go for it or if it reminds you of your youth, it might take a few years off your age.

It may be ok for rentals like in the video in tourist traps, but it's basically useless around here. It would make a cool pit bike or something to ride around a campground or neighborhood, but I wouldn't think of taking it on the street. IMO there are better ways to spend 4K.

I have a monkey. Sweet little bike. I use it to commute to work everyday. $3 to fill up the tank and it lasts me all week. Whenever I feel the need to go faster I take out the 600rr, but the monkey is so much fun to ride.
Honda released it late last year. I was on the waitlist for mine. Picked it up a few weeks before thanksgiving and don't regret it one bit. I'm hoping Honda releases a different color this year. I want a black one, but unfortunately only red and yellow are the two color options right now. If I can figure out how to post pics I'll post a pic of mine here.

Honda nailed it on the retro look of that Monkey. If I had the $$ I would buy one in a heartbeat.
