between Maxlife and Pennzoil... Is it possible that Pennzoil High Mileage would slow a leak more so than Maxlife sine the Valvolines is a syn blend?

No. The base oil has little to do with slowing a leak. The additives in the oil like seal conditioners are what slow a leak.

From info on this site, Maxlife is regarded as one of, if not best High Mileage oil on the market today.

I've never used Pennzoil High Mileage but I do know from experience that MaxLife has stopped leaks in 2 out of 2 applications I tried it in. Granted, they were very small leaks (a few drips a day) but they did stop after switching them from 5w30 conventional to Valvoline MaxLife 5w30 or 10w30
