I purchased five NOCO genius battery charger/ maintainer. These battery tenders get good reviews.

Of the five tenders, one is still new in the box. One is in use in Colorado, and I have three in my possession that have been used prior. All are less than a year old.

Went to use the tenders this morning. First one dead. Second tender dead. Third tender worked. Did all the resets on the dead units, no change.

Not sure why these two failed. These two were in use about four months in a hot desert climate, but they were operating when I removed the tenders.

This is a concern, as battery tenders are often left running and unchecked.

The expression I've heard frequently is "Electronics exhibit infant mortality or last forever".

I wonder if GON's failed units are from ramped up production runs; possibly on changed (upscaled?) lines.
I’ve got a NOCO Genius 5 and 3 1/2 yo. It would be my hope that if it fails, it doesn’t damage the vehicle but simply stops working…it’s always plugged in but I use a timer to charge 8 hours not 24. Car battery is 13 yo so figure may help it to last

I have a Noco genius 2 that won’t go from charge mode to maintain mode on the Buick’s battery. The Battery Minder 1.5 amp charges quickly then goes to maintain mode on the same battery (which is only two years old).
The Noco worked fine on another battery however, so I don’t know what’s going on. Battery tester shows the Buick battery to be healthy.

Ok- I'm bringing this up. Were these put in the back of a trailer during Gons move and subject to high temps and vibrations for a couple of thousand miles?

He won't see this- he blocks me.

Been using the NOCO 2 for the last few years and all has been good. Useful to maintain when away from home for several weeks due to constant minor draw of modern vehicles.

I have 4 NOCO Genius 2 chargers. One I bought in April went dead like GON's. Doesn't light up or charge. They have a 3 year warranty but the return policy is a pain. My experience was that I had to spend over an hour with the "chat" people. They require the serial number and proof of purchase which they kept saying they didn't receive. They finely found the copies I sent them 3 times and then gave me an address to send the dead charger to at my expense. They said they would test it and if they found it was defective, they would send a replacement in three weeks. I may just throw it away. I am not a NOCO fan any longer.
