You're in @The Critic !
Our Premium plus series will use the same good raw materials but utilizing a DEX 1 Gen 2 /SP DI pack. I would say that the starting points are higher for the Euro oils vs domestic. We are so far from a normal starting point that the difference would be small. However I would still use the appropriate applicable Strategies as they contain the correct starting point for the intended use. We just spend a lot of effort to make legitimate improvements.@High Performance Lubricants - For a non-Euro application, is there any advantage to using this 0W-20 over one of your other ones?
I am expecting UOA with track time on it.Ordered - 6qt of Euro 5W40 + 1 qt engine cleaner. I'll give it a whirl.
You'll get it! That's my plan, switch it out in Feb before an HPDE in March.I am expecting UOA with track time on it.
My real question is what does better actually mean? How much longer will it make your engine last vs using Mobil 1 0w40? I'd want to see an actual cost benefit analysis. There are a few good things to mention. First there is a BITOG15 discount code which nets you 15% off. Next evidenced by the -71F pour point it is clear to see the utilization of PAO. Further when you factor in the use of Alkylated Naphthalene and ester and star polymers, you can begin to understand why we are not formulated for a discount store.
The oil will do an excellent job. It’s my job to make sure that happens.
Mobil makes a fine 0w40. We are not a good fit for everyone.
For those who share the same philosophy we’ll likely be good friends.

I think the advantage of that oil is you can run long oci’s, longer than 10k miles. And I don’t think you like to do that. I don’t.B/c it's fun to try new things for you car?

I wish.I may buy some and give it a shot (the 5W40) - v. expensive though...~$100 for 6 qts!

Has anyone tried it?
These days the "Euro" adjective is nothing more than a marketing ruse. How do you know that it is so indeed.
You want a euro oil? Get one own by a euro company and manufactured there. Oil in EU gets a beating because the distances are much shorter than here so cold starting and short trips are a killer and if it performs well there than it will perform even better here.
Not true in this case. These days the "Euro" adjective is nothing more than a marketing ruse. How do you know that it is so indeed.

Agreed; 1hp is 1 hp!Oil is about performance to me all of today's oils will make your engine last but I cannot afford to lose 1+hp at anytime![]()
Correct, the long OCI isn't a concern to me but viscosity stability over a shorter hard-driven OCI is.I think the advantage of that oil is you can run long oci’s, longer than 10k miles. And I don’t think you like to do that. I don’t.
