Factory specs 5W-20, even though the model from 2 years before spec'd 5w30. I blame CAFE.

I plan on going with a high mileage oil like MaxLife or ST High Mileage with the hope that it will slow the RMS leak. I'd also like to bump up to 5w30 as the engine seems a bit chattery with 5W-20.

Is it a good idea to make 2 switches at once? Should I do High Mileage oil first, and then switch to 5w30?

The 5w20 and the 5w30 have the same base oil thickness, so if one leaks so will the other. The HM version supposedly/usually have adds or just extra ones to help seals/gaskets seal up better. The HM will also be a little thicker is the base oil so that may help to. I would just go ahead to a HM version of whatever oil you are comfortable with, you can always switch back if needed.
