High mileage oils Australia down under

Hi

Which high mileage engine oils are available in Australia ?

I have not been able find any name brands listed or advertised as High Mileage oils.

Is this a US only thing?

Or are Australian engine oils already formulated as High Mileage oils but not advertised as such ?

Who knows - here in the states where lighter oils seem to be utilized relatively speaking by what a few other Australian's say, one might be more apt to see find leaks. Some how that doesn't seem right though. Perhaps it's the passive approach to solving problems, and the market niche that takes to those seeking an easier approach to get by.

Regardless, here in the NE corner of the US, I find myself having some success in what would cost me an otherwise $800-1k to repair, or at least become an adventure as I would have to just about pull the engine and transmission from my FWD wagon to get to the seeping rear main seal. This is also another reason I chose to have automatic transmissions (no clutch surfaces to suffer from oil contamination, etc.).

There was a time and a vehicle that I'd make such repairs a weekend project, but somethings have changed.

If your fwd is like mine, you don't have to pull the engine(just the struts, axles and transmission) which is exactly why I too haven't made a weekend adventure!

You need to ask Sprintman and Shannow. I remember a recent post by Shannow about Pennzoil in Australia. From what I remember I asked about Valvoline in OZ and Shannow posted a link to Valvoline of Australia. Quite interesting that 20w50 is the most popular weight in OZ.
