I know I am far from being in the high mileage club but I love to hear stories so let us know!

Me 1998 honda accord,auto, 4cyl 105,000 miles.
great car had it since about 70k. hope to keep it till around 300,000 but reality says about 200,000.

One of the better ones I have read about is:

I recently read a post describing an engine in a carpet cleaning truck (in line 6 I think) that was run for 400,000 travel miles plus it was run 8 hours a day 6 days a week running the various pumps for the carpet cleaning service. This has to be the equivelent of milti-million miles of "use" on the engine. The owner did oil changes every week or 2 and used "cheap" conventional oil.

The best one I have seen is a Livery Limo that had 600,000+ miles on it. I asked about how he maintained the vehicle, he said he had the oil changed every 3,000 miles and it was on it's 3rd trans. The Limo ran like brand new, smooth as silk, and the guy thought it would last several more years.

How about this one?

Perhaps the single most stunning example of legendary Volvo durability is the shiny red 1966 Volvo P1800 owned by Irv Gordon. So far it has been driven a world-record-breaking 2,000,000 miles and counting.

800 more miles and I will hit the 250,000 mile mark on my Volvo. Never owned a car with over 200,000K until this one. (Volvo gives out high mileage badges)

I'm not a member of the VCOA anymore so I don't follow the IRV'ometer.

My dad's current daily driver is a '90 GMC C2500... it's got just under 350k on the odometer now. it still runs pretty well but the body is starting to get a little rough. I even used the truck to haul an all steel horse trailer from Maine to Kentucky and back at 276,000 miles.
his previous 88 C1500 had about 400,000-450,000 on it when it was finally retired (odo failed at 200,000 in 1993... was retired in 00 with no reduction in use.)

Hey,

My Dad owns a 94 Grand Caravan with 164K on the odometer. 2nd transmission and water pump, everything else is original. Still runs strong but the paint is pretty much shot. Some oil changes we've let them go alittle longer than one should but now it's 3000 miles/3mo regardless of anything,,,,,,,AR

my father still drives his 1977 Chevy pickup he bought new in 1976. I believe he has in the neighborhood of 370k on the odometer. He is on his 3rd transmission and 4th paint job. I believe he had the engine rebuilt at 300k about 6 years ago.

131900 on my '92 SAAB 900 Turbo. Runs real strong and doesn't use a drop of oil.

199,000 on my '96 Cherokee. The only part ever replaced is the catylitic converter. Still runs perfectly, gets 25mpg highway, and I just handed a camaro his a$$ the other day.

I'll soon have 160,000 miles on my 1988 Mustang 5.0 -- it's in the middle of an Auto-RX treatment.

The cleaning phase oil came out looking really nasty after 1500 miles.

250k on a 93 Grand Caravan AWD. Transmission replaced twice, complete suspension once, several water pumps, 1 alternator, 1 rad, u-joints, several CV axles, etc, etc.

She'll be at 300k by spring and I'll have spend around $15,000CDN in repairs and maintenance, which is right on my target of 5 cents/mile. If it wasn't for the dud trans rebuild that lasted just past the warranty, it would have came in well under budget.
