Looked at my data logs (looking at the difference in intake air temp [so air to the throttle body/after IC] vs. ambient temps) from last week's track night vs. last year at the same track....same setup last year less hood louver, ambients in the mid-80s last year vs. ~100 last night, I dropped my IAT-AMB min ~7 degrees (~20 min vs. ~27 last year) while still seeing the basically the same max (~40 deg). Race Louvers....they work to increase IC efficiency! Go cut a hole in your hood!
Next up is adding the auxillary radiator from the Golf R/S3on my right side (behind where a fog light would go) to bolster my cooling.
For this event at 100 deg, I had to run the heater the whole time and basically get one hot lap before having to cool it down. Hoping this will give me a bit more headroom before it takes a dump hahaha. Oil 270+, trans 260+, coolant peak around 245.
