The base oils appear to be Group I and II, so I wouldn't call it a blend, just a mix of mineral oils.

The heavier distillates are probably cheap seal swell additives.

Pretty interesting since this is supposed to be a 100,000mile ATF fluid.

My guess is that it is just like MC 5w20. Doesn't look spectacular on paper, but real world results "are" spectacular.

Good point...I just assumed it was a syn blend, but if I am reading this post right, it is not?!?!

Anywho...it's found as cheap as $4/qt online. Might buy some and go back to it in my Mazda3. Amsoil in there now.

Let me ask what might be a stupid question...what's the difference between this and say, a Merc V or Good Multi Vehicle Fluid?

I would say this fluid has additives and friction modifiers not compatible with any other transmission.

Maybe some of our transmission experts could tell us what is so different about this 5-speed transmission.

The only thing different about this transmission that I have heard, is that it was completely engineered by Mazda. Mazda had been outsourcing all their transmissions from Jatco or AisinWarner? Other than possibly being a Mazda thing, I have no idea what makes it different.
